North St. Paul Target
Site improvements include four rain gardens and two tree trenches to improve drainage and filter phosphorus and excess nutrients from stormwater before reaching Kohlman Creek. To install these projects, 50 parking spaces were removed, reducing the amount of impermeable surface on the site. The gardens and tree trenches treat the site’s remaining 4 acres of impermeable surface or approximately 36% of the site area. Now, 6 lbs of phosphorus and 1,140 lbs of total suspended solids will be filtered out yearly.
