Overview

The filtration basins at Wakefield Park are one of the projects installed using funds from a Clean Water Fund watershed based funding grant from BWSR. The goal of this project was to install two rain gardens that intercepts and filters rainwater runoff from the streets. This reduces the volume of rainwater runoff and increases the quality of runoff that drains into Wakefield Lake. This was done in conjunction with a City of Maplewood project to narrow Frost Avenue which also improves water quality of runoff going into Wakefield Lake.
