Wet Winter Ahead

Continuing a trend seen in recent years, Minnesota communities have been dealing with the ongoing challenge of high ground and surface water levels. The National Weather Service officially declared 2019 the wettest year in Twin Cities history. The extended winter forecast predicts that this wet trend will continue, adding to our already saturated situation.

RWMWD will be working diligently with our city and county partners to prepare for the spring thaw, including sharing information and technical assistance based on snow levels and melt scenarios. As always, we will keep you updated by website, email & our social media platforms.
