Willow Creek Drainage Improvements

A new storm sewer system to safely convey flows to Willow Lake.

This project includes approximately 1,240 feet of storm sewer and 8 manholes to convey a portion of Willow Creek through private property. The purpose was to reduce erosion and minimize the amount of sediment being transported into a downstream wetland.

Prior to the project, a portion of Willow Creek within the project area flowed through a deteriorated pipeline. The pipeline discharged approximately 200 feet upstream of Highway 61 and conveyed Willow Creek to the highway in an eroded ditch.

The Willow Creek Drainage Improvements project included installation of a new reinforced concrete pipeline to replace the old one and the eroded ditch. As a part of the project, the pipeline alignment was relocated along the south edge of the property, and the property owner granted an easement to do the work.
